about dayplus

OUR UNIQUENESS

Holding on to the belief that all Singaporean should have the chance to conveniently enjoy premium quality bread at an affordable price, Dayplus was established.

Yet, what determine whether the bread will be of premium quality? Bread has been a staple food on dinner tables everywhere. The main ingredient required to make bread are the same everywhere – wheat flour. When mixed with water, the flour forms a cohesive dough capable of holding gas, which will set to a spongy structure when baked. The percentage of protein and starch in the wheat flour will greatly determine the quality of the bread produced. Thus, the proper selection of flour is needed to produce the desired bread.

Hence at Dayplus, only top-notch grade of wheat flour is used in the bread. This is why Dayplus buns are soft & fluffy without the addition of any emulsifier into the dough. This is our strong commitment on quality!

Using such high quality flour and ingredients imported from Japan, Dayplus group of bakers has successfully produces the same high quality bread that Japanese has been enjoying for the past decade. We have a passion and pride ourselves upon our bread.

Dayplus breads are individually packed and comes in a wide range of unique and yummy flavours that is not usually available in Singapore market.

Our buns have a long shelf life and are preservative free. This is possible as we are using advanced preservation techniques and standards practised by the Japanese. This ensures that Singaporeans are able to enjoy high quality bread anytime at their convenience.

2009

With a mission to provide premium quality bread to the local market, we started baking and retailing Dayplus Natural Yeast Buns in Singapore by the second quarter of 2009.

2012

Dayplus began our first export overseas to Hong Kong 7-Eleven, the largest convenience store operator in Hong Kong.

Dayplus collaborated with a Food Science company to produce a range of functional bread in Singapore - Super buns series. Through the research of Professor Zhou Wei Biao, a food scientist at the National University of Singapore, he discovered by adding anthocyanin into white bread, it can slow down the digestion of starch hence improving blood glucose control. To obtain the regal hue, the indigo-coloured dough is infused with anthocyanins extracted from black rice. “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” ~Hippocrates

2018

2020

Dayplus continues to expand our footprints into Hong Kong by supplying to ParkNShop, one of the largest supermarket chains in Hong Kong.

Dayplus begins supplying to local airlines and you can now enjoy our delicious Dayplus buns on board!

2021

Rising demand and the finite resources at our rented premise prompted us to seek a new location. We moved over to our existing location at FoodXchange @ Admiralty, the first strata titled multi-fledged food facility by a private developer.

2010

We began operation at a rented premise off Wan Lee Road and started recruitment of our first batch of bakers. Their training was conducted by a very highly experienced Japanese baker Miura-san.

Dayplus buns have a shelf life of 35 days from date of production. This is possible through the use of cutting edge Japanese technology (Fresh Dot) that controls water activity to protect the growth of microbes.

Fresh Dot is an ethanol transpiration-based food freshness-preserving agent. Evaporated ethanol adheres to the food (forming a barrier), keeping the food moist and close to freshly made. In addition, it sterilizes the first bacteria, suppresses their growth, and prevents the growth of mold.

OUR BELIEF -
THE STORY OF A MUSTARD SEED

A mustard seed is the smallest of all seed. And mustard seed begins with small beginnings. Although it is the smallest of all the seeds on earth, when it is planted, it comes up and becomes larger than all the garden plants. That’s how Dayplus intends to grow. Small company, Big Vision. Only time will prove.
